- Course objectives
- The Compendium for Teachers course deals with the most fundamental educational concepts, paying attention to latest trends and current issues in the school system. The aim of the course is to facilitate understanding and overview of current processes influencing the situation in education and in schools and also to motivate students to undertake teacher training. Forms of active and open learning will be emphasized during the course.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
a) Orient oneself in contemporary educational topics concerning the teaching profession.
b) Follow new trends in education.
c) Apply the knowledge gained in Compendium in own practice.
d) Discuss pressing issues of the Czech school system using relevant arguments and research results. - Syllabus

- Teaching methods
- Each lecture is associated with a seminar session where students are expected to actively participate.
- Assessment methods
- Written test containing five open-ended questions concerning the topics dealt with in class instruction. The purpose of the questions is to verify understanding of the subject matter, the ability to apply the knowledge gained in a similar area and the ability to critically assess individual theories. The minimum of 66 points out of the maximum of 100 points is required to successfully pass the test.
