TY - JOUR ID - 571307 AU - Divínová, Radana PY - 2005 TI - Cybersex as the Form of the Internet Communication: Motivation of the Users PB - Masarykova univerzita v Brne CY - Brno SN - 8021036907 KW - internet KW - sex KW - motivation KW - needs KW - masturbation KW - relationships N2 - The Internet significantly influenced the ways of presenting and consuming sexual content. We understand cybersex as suggestive or explicitly erotic messages or sexual fantasies that people exchange via the net. Masturbation usually forms part of cybersex. Cooper stresses three primary factors that facilitate online sexuality - accessibility, affordability and anonymity of the Internet. Motives that lead individuals to cybersex are - albeit not necessarily conscious. The qualitative research conducted in 2003 revealed the needs that contribute to the motivation of people who practise cybersex. It is: desire for sexual satisfaction, desire for knowledge, desire to be himself/herself, desire to break away, desire to be wanted, trying to find a partner for real sex, excitement stemming from anonymity and from interactivity. It is important to know that these needs can mutually interact. Cybersexual activities can be perceived differently by the users themselves and for some consumers cybersex has certain advantages also compared to real sex. ER -
