After the UK left the EU, a new immigration system had been set up and implemented. The first draft published in 2021 but supplementary rules and schemes are still being added. However, the current system suffers from inaccuracies and policies that are not fully effective. This study focuses on the policy challenges of labour migration in the context of the post-Brexit immigration system examining the shortages of workers in sectors of the UK economy and addressing the risk of exploitation of migrant workers in the current environment. Policy solutions for the identified challenges are suggested and evaluated through a SWOT analysis. The thesis will propose recommendations for future policymaking and commend the direction for further research to improve policy outcomes.
