PROJECT OUTLINE
1.    Definition of solved problems and basic concepts
The diploma thesis will explore the use of music as a didactic tool in English language teaching at the lower primary level (Years 1–3). Young learners naturally respond to rhythm, melody, and the sound structure of language, which supports their development in pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammatical structures.

2.    Summary of the state of the solution or knowledge
Music in language teaching has been widely researched and shown to support vocabulary retention, pronunciation, and learner motivation. However, there is a lack of practical didactic materials for primary school teachers. This thesis will build on existing research to address that gap.

3.    The aim of the thesis
The aim is to design and test didactic approaches for effectively integrating musical elements into English language teaching. In addition to providing a theoretical background, the thesis will include six practical, ready-to-use lesson plans for Years 1–3.

4.    Workflow
The thesis will consist of a theoretical chapter, an analysis of curriculum requirements from the Framework Educational Programme for Primary Schools, and a set of didactic materials. These will include games, exercises, and musical activities designed to enhance English language acquisition.

5.    Organization, material
03-08/2025: Literature review, project planning and development of didactic materials
09-12/2025: Implementation and reflection, writing of the practical part
01-02/2026: Theoretical writing and final revisions
03/2026: Completion and submission

6.    Assumed use of results
The result of my work will serve as practical support for primary school and English teachers, providing inspiration and tools for using music to enhance English language learning in early education.
