OSNOVA PROJEKTU 1.Definition of solved problems and basic concepts This diploma thesis will deal with the integration and interconnection of both subjects – Music and English language. Nowadays there is a tendency to interconnect many subjects into one. This serves as a reason for compiling this thesis, leaving aside the fact that both are my major fields of study. I will integrate English into Music lessons to the largest possible extent through fun and games involving activities containing English elements. 2.Summary of the state of the solution or knowledge (brief research, starting point for the work goal, formulation of research problems, etc.) It is known that when individuals are learning Music it develops their receptive and productive skills that are needed in language learning (developing better aural skills, intonation etc.). The more the student is used to listening and producing Music the better they are at learning English. I have already tried to teach Music in English. It was during my teaching practice and I believe the students found it useful. 3.The aim of thesis My set aim for this thesis is to demonstrate and verify the possibility to integrate English and Music. I would like to confirm the meaning behind the tendency of subject interconnection or show that the interconnectivity is not working as expected. This thesis will also serve as a resource of various types of musical activities, focused on specific skills development which can be included in Music and/or English lessons. 4.Workflow (access to solutions, methods, techniques, tools, etc.) The thesis will be divided into a number of chapters and subchapters - theory, curriculum and requirements from RVP, notes from my class observations, various music games, exercises and activities which will focus on practical skills development, samples of Music lessons created by me. 5.Organization, material (timeline of work, etc.) Spring semester 2018: - Creating the plan (Diploma Project), collecting essential materials Autumn semester 2018 (writing the thesis): - Writing the thesis Spring semester 2019 (finishing the thesis): - Graphical revision, format editions, submit the thesis 6.Assumed use of results (ways of presentation, publication, etc.) The result of my work can serve as study materials for Music teachers on how to compile numerous materials that can be used during teaching. As the thesis will be written in English, it can also be a help to English Speaking teachers who came to the Czech Republic to teach Music or those who are teaching Music in English already. 7.Project annotation This thesis will deal with interconnection of Music and English lessons. The aim is to provide a wide range of different music activities that can help the learners to improve their practical skills used in foreign language learning. The results will be used as to prove either a meaningful or meaningless tendency to integrate different subjects into one. This thesis will include not only presented activities, but also an evaluation of their usage at lower-secondary schools. 8.List of literature and references (cited and source information sources) ADAMS, Pauline.
