Course objectives
Civil Law Substantive - the fundamental legal part of private area. Understanding of the general part of civil law. Assumption of the right in rem and inheritance.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
understand the basic institutes of civil law;
intererpret the basic institutes of civil law with the context of other parts of Private Law;
make reasoned decisions about issues of the civil law;
explain this regulation,
apply it and to create the legal view for the concrete cases.

  • Civil legal relationships.
  • Personal rights.
  • Civil legal matters, legal acts (legal transaction). Consequences.
  • Civil legal matters, concluding a contract.
  • Civil legal matters, time and its purport.
  • Rights in rem, concept, categorization.
  • Ownership, concept, subject, object.
  • Acquisition of ownership.
  • Co-ownership and matrimonial property.
  • Co-ownership of flats (apartments).
  • Rights to another persons things.
  • Succession, intestacy, testamentary succession

Teaching methods
Learning is made in the form of lecture (once a week) and following seminaries (once a week). The lectures have cognitive function, seminaries are reserved for practise of ability to apply the legal regulation on the concrete cases.
Assessment methods
Compulsory lessons.
Continuous home preparation.
Written tests.
The course finishes with written test, the students obtain credits. The conditions for obtaining credits can be specified by every teacher differently. It is minimally to pass one test, number of questions designates the teacher, the student has to get more than half of marks.
