- Abstract
- The course aims to introduce participants to an innovative method of testing students' knowledge in medical and healthcare study programmes through an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). The course will discuss the methodological background and theoretical framework based on internationally recognised and proven experience. At the same time, the complete process of preparation and implementation of the OSCE will be presented in detail, with real examples from teaching using the SIMUportfolio platform, which is used at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University in selected courses for student examination. One of the course's outputs will be creating and practically implementing the exam using the OSCE method.
- Learning outcomes
- • The student will describe the objective structured clinical examination's essential motivation and main theoretical principles.
• The student will summarise the features and benefits of the SIMUportfolio integration platform regarding formative and summative assessment.
• The student will propose an appropriate topic for station preparation based on objective structured clinical examination principles.
• The student will demonstrate the implementation of a station based on the principles of an objective structured clinical examination.
• The student formulates feedback after a practical demonstration of the station. - Key topics
