Cíle předmětu
The aim of the course is to explain the basic relationships of general chemistry, to acquaint students with the basic structures and properties of an-/organic compounds important in medicine, nutrition and toxicology, and to introduce the composition and properties of dental materials.
Výstupy z učení
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
  • understand the basics of general, inorganic and organic chemistry in the scope necessary for further study of biochemistry.
  • apply general physical-chemical laws to processes in living organisms.
  • describe the properties of the major biogenic elements and compounds of importance in medicine.
  • understand the properties and reactions of organic compounds important in biochemistry.
  • understand the composition and chemical nature of the main dental materials.
    • Osnova
    • Acid-base reactions, dissociation of electrolytes. Buffers, buffering systems in the organism.
    • Biologically significant elements and their compounds.
    • Energy of chemical reactions. Reaction kinetics. Chemical equilibrium.
    • Redox reaction. Biochemically significant redox systems.
    • Dental materials.
    • Biologically significant reactions and relationships between organic compounds.
    • Saccharides. Glycosides, nucleosides.
    • Fatty acids, acylglycerols, phospho-, glycolipids. Steroids.
