Course objectives
Main objectives may be summarized as follows:
to describe in detail individual parts of the central nervous system; to know all components of the ventricular system; to define the meninges; to know blood supply of the brain and spinal cord including their meninges; to identify the peripheral nerves and know their courses and target organs; to describe distribution of the autonomic nervous system in the human body; to know anatomy and basic functions of the senses; to identify components of the nervous system demonstrated by basic imaging methods.
Syllabus
  • 1. Basic anatomy of the nervous system. Anatomy of the spinal cord.
  • 2. Anatomy of the brainstem, attachments of the cranial nerves.
  • 3. Anatomy of the cerebellum. Anatomy of the diencephalon.
  • 4. Anatomy of the telencephalon (incl. BG).
  • 5. Cranial nerves III., IV., VI., VII.
  • 6. Cranial nerve V.
  • 7. Cranial nerves IX., X., XI., XII.
  • 8. Cervical and brachial plexuses.
  • 9. Lumbar and sacral plexuses.
  • 10. Autonomic nervous system. Meninges, ventricles, and blood supply of the CNS.
  • 11. Auditory system.
  • 12. Visual system.
