Course objectives
Students will have the basic overview of urgent situations of most frequent internal diseases, which are probable to appear, urgent situation and their solutions are stressed.
Syllabus
  • Respiratory diseases I (respiratory failure, pulmonary inflammation, aspiration, ARDS, PNO, bleeding).
  • 2. Cardiac diseases I (cardiac failure, arrythmias, acute conorary syndrome).
  • 3. Cardiac diseases II (Hypertension crisis, pulmonary embolism, cardiac inflammative diseases, tamponade).
  • 4. Angiology (thromboembolic disease, acute arterial obstruction, lymfatic system disturbances, erysipel).
  • 5. Hypotension, shock (shocks, diagnostics, treatment).
  • 6. Haematological diseases (complications of anaemia, white blood cells diseases, coagulation disturbances - DIC, bleeding).
  • 7. Imunology (specific and nonspecific immunity, antibody and cellular immunity, immunodeficiencies).
  • 8. Gastroenterology I (complications of oesophagus and stomach diseases, complications of bowel diseases).
  • 9. Gastroenterology II (liver failure, pancreas and gallbladder diseases, acute pancreatitis).
  • 10. Nephrology (kidney failure, inflammations of kidney, lithiasis, hydronephrosis).
  • 11. Metabolic diseases (complications of diabetes mellitus, goat seizure).
  • 12. Endocrine diaseases (endocrine comas, diseases of suprarenal glands).
  • 13. Emergencies in internal medicine (coma, cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
  • 14. Geriatrics (specificities of the care for elderly patient in emergency).
