Abstract
The seminar will offer theoretical and methodological insight into the issue of culturally sensitive education (not only the education of pupils with a different mother tongue). Students will gain an overview of the possibilities of including pupils with cultural and ethnic differences in mainstream education and understand the principles of support measures provided by the Czech education system. We will also introduce the Derdoff´s model of intercultural competencies and try to cultivate these competencies in practice. We will present a wide range of methodological materials that learners will be able to use, navigate and critically reflect on.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - describe the target groups of students and introduce the issue of culturally sensitive approach in the context of the Czech Republic - orient in the basic principles of inclusive education and reflect critically on these principles - orient themselves in the system of support measures, in alternative approaches to support pupils with cultural difference - characterise institutions and organisations dealing with the education of pupils with SEN and inclusive education - make active use of supporting information and methodological materials

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
The emphasis in teaching is mainly on interactive teaching methods and methods that activate students to cooperate. Taking the students as colleagues of similar power. Embracing the constructivist view of knowledge (students create their own knowledge). Taking students as individuals with diverse needs.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
Active participation + written analytical-creative project combining intercultural experience with professional analysis, creative proposal for visual intervention, and in-depth self-reflection (min. 1200 words).
Alternate completion
The course can be taken in an alternative form after prior agreement with the course guarantor.
