Course objectives
Specification of individual differences in education of children/pupils with different forms and degree of special educational needs.
Learning outcomes
- The student will acquire basic theoretical knowledge within individual forms and grades of GMP;
- The student will deepen the basic terminology related to the fields of special education.
Syllabus
  • • Child / pupil with impaired communication skills, his / her education and support, communication, possibilities of speech therapy intervention.
  • • A child / pupil with a hearing impairment or with a weakening of hearing perception, his / her education and support, principles of communication.
  • • Child / pupil with specific learning disabilities, his / her education and support, dyslexia characteristics, dysgraphia, dysortography, dyscalculia. Promoting functional literacy.
  • • Child / pupil with disabilities, education and support.
  • • Child / pupil with chronic disease and its impact on education.
  • • Child / pupil with visual impairment or impaired visual perception, education and support.
  • • Child / pupil with mental disability or cognitive impairment, education and support.
  • • Child / pupil with autism spectrum disorders - PAS, his / her education and support.
  • • Child / pupil at risk of behavioral disorders, with problems / behavioral disorders his / her education and support.

Teaching methods
Presentation of particular types of special educational needs, their manifestations. Categorization. Discussion over specified topics and literature. Preparation of materials for seminar work - case studies.
Assessment methods
Test with open questions. Conditions and evaluation will be specified by teachers in IS.
