Course objectives
The aim of the course is to extend their knowledge of the pupil's representation of the subject, along with ways of evaluating pupils and the possibilities of pedagogical research, through active student participation in the content of teaching.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to: apply the principles of project education to teaching of civics, use educational projects of nonprofit organizations on the topics of civics, explain the problems of evaluation in civics, to describe basic methods of pedagogical research and possibilities of their use.
Syllabus
  • Week 1: Project-based learning (definitions, approaches, pros, cons, ...)
  • Week 2: Field trips (Holocaust, trials, important personalities, identity, play ...)
  • Week 3: Game in the OV class
  • Weeks 4 - 5: Media education and its integration into civics classes
  • Constructivist processing of selected outcomes of the RVP into the teaching of civics with the use of teaching projects:
  • Week 6: Man as an individual (ethics, self-knowledge, personality, ...); Family
  • Week 7: Man in society (Holocaust, human rights, propaganda, multiculturalism, misinformation, school parliament, ...)
  • Week 8: Man, state and law (forms of states, state and local government, elections, contracts, TC, drug addiction, ...)
  • Week 9: International relations, global world (EU, human problems, climate crisis, war, ...)
  • Week 10: Pedagogical research and assessment in the civics
  • Week 11 - 12: Communication with student, parent and school; application of cross-cutting themes; working with the textbook and WB; pedagogical success and burnout syndrome
