Course objectives
Objective of the course in terms of learning outcomes and competences The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic diagnostic methods of functional vision testing in children with visual impairment, adults and seniors with visual impairment and persons with combined disabilities. Students will be acquainted with medical and special pedagogical tests for examination of visual acuity, field of vision, contrast sensitivity, coloring and other visual functions. Students will learn to use these tests in practice. Students will become acquainted with the work of visual therapists.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- define the scope of the vision therapist, including legislative anchoring
- to focus on diagnostic methods of examining visual functions in children and adults with visual impairment and people with combined disabilities
- basic way to examine visual acuity, field of view, contrast sensitivity, coloring and other visual functions
- use special pedagogical diagnostic tests for visual functions
