Abstract
The goal of the course is to create background for services, developing competences and skills for clients (children, youth, adults). Individual choice of place of practice.
Learning outcomes
identify ethical dilemmas related to the organization's activities; to recognize valid legislation in the field of pedagogical, counseling or social work, in which the organization where the practice is practiced is profiled; create a self-evaluation portfolio
Key topics
  • 1. After an initial meeting with the internship guarantor, where all matters related to the internship will be clarified, the student contacts the institution of his/her choice and arranges the signing of the internship contract between the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, MU and the selected institution.
  • 2. Familiarization with the tasks for the internship (legislative conditions of the functioning of the facility/provided services, documentation of the facility and documentation of direct work with clients, preparation for one's own activity with clients (activity management), management or organization of activity/work with clients, ethical dilemmas in pedagogical/social/counseling work (case analysis). Detailed assignments for individual tasks are published in the electronic study support of the course (ELF).
  • 3. Internship in a selected facility. During the internship, the student performs individual tasks (see point 2) and, according to feedback from the internship manager from the selected facility, expands his/her knowledge and develops his/her skills.
  • 4. Completion of the supervision group and final reflection on the internship (based on student portfolios and completed tasks with teachers from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, MU and possibly with some representatives of internship managers from the facility).

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
Active participation in practice in a selected facility, group discussion, individual consultation.
To complete the course, a workload of 200 hours (8 ECTS credits) is expected:
- Practice in the facility (190 hours)
- Preparation of the final assignment (8 hours)
- Preparation and participation in a reflective meeting (2 hours)

To successfully complete the course, the following conditions must be met:
1. Attend the introductory meeting
2. Complete the internship
3. Submit the final assignment
4. Submit the final assessment
