Course objectives
Aim of this discipline is to gain knowledge of educational theories, understanding of theories and ability to evaluate critically each educational theories.
Syllabus
  • The discipline makes a link to General Education and focuses studentsattention to selected theories related to education. Among them, academic, congitive-psychological, personalistic, social, socio-cognitive, sporitual and technological theories play the main role.
  • 1. Spiritualistic theories (Steiner, waldorf, Maslow, Leonard, Ferguson)
  • 2. Personalist theories (New schools školy, Reddie, Neill)
  • 3. Psychocognitive theories (Piaget, Kohlberg, von Glasersfeld, Bruner)
  • 4. Social Cognitive theories (Vygotsky, Bandura)
  • 5. Social theories (Freire, Giroux, Shor, McLaren)
  • 6. Academic theories (accontability)
  • 7. Technological theories (ICT, McLuhan, Baudrillard, e-learning)

Assessment methods
Written test based on study and lectures, test consist of 7 open questions. 66% of correct answers is needed to pass the eaxm.
