Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- understand and apply the basic of population genetics and evolutionary genetics
- explain basic principles in population genetics and their application in real populations
- analyse any population from view genetic equilibrium
- compare any model and real populations

  • 2. Sources of genetic variability in populations.
  • 3. Quantitative assessment of genetic variability.
  • 4. Hardy-Weinberg principle.
  • 5. Validity od the H.-W. principle in gonochoristic population.
  • 6. Linkage and linkage disequilibrium.
  • 7. Assortative mating.
  • 8. Inbreeding.
  • 9. Random genetic drift.
  • 10. Effective population number.
  • 11. Mutations.
  • 12. Migration.
  • 13. Natural selection.
  • 14. Mutation-selection balance.
