Basic life support and AED in adult
Dispatcher-assisted CPR
- = telephone-CPR
- the dispatcher provides instructions to guide the rescuer to help him to perform the CPR
- this concept has increased the number of bystander-initiated CPR
- it has also shortened the time of the bystander's hesitation over starting CPR, and so improved the outcomes of the pre-hospital CPR
- in case of an adult patient, the dispatcher advises performing compression-only CPR
- in case of a child, the dispatcher advises performing standard CPR, chest compressions together with rescue breaths
- since the dispatcher gives you instructions for CPR and speaks to you through the phone until EMS arrives, it is useful to turn on the loudspeaker
- never end the call as the first one
