Syllabus
  • Written part:
  • 1) Test a) Listening b) Grammar (forming questions, word formation, a selection of B1 grammar phenomena, coherence and cohesion) c) Text analysis (logical linking and specialised expressions)
  • 2) Writing an academic email (80-120 words) as specified in the instructions
  • Oral part: The exam assesses student´s ability to communicate in English and to talk on specific topics related to their field of study. The exam is done in pairs. Each student is assigned a short text to read and take notes about. Subsequently, students mediate the topic of their text speaking from notes. The texts discuss specialised topics using the following language functions: 1. Explaining concepts. 2. Describing a process, experiment, cycle or a notion. 3. Comparing and contrasting phenomena from your field of study. 4. Classifying systems in your field of study. 5. Describing a cause and effect relationship from your field of study.
