Úvodní informace / Pokyny

The "Master of International and European Studies and Energy Policy Studies" is a full-time double degree program offered by the University of Trento and the Masaryk University. The standard duration of the program is two years or four semesters. Students spend their first year in Trento, where they focus on (international and European) politics, economics and law. For the second year, they move to Brno, where they study energy policy and write their thesis. At both universities, coursework includes reading assignments, written assignments, class presentations, workshops, and exams. All classes are taught in English. The language of assigned readings, exams, and individual consultations is also English. Courses are divided into two categories: compulsory and elective. The compulsory courses form the core of the program. They must all be completed during the course of study. In addition, students may choose electives, of which they must take enough to earn 120 credits by registering for the final exam. The final exam takes place at the end of the fourth semester at Masaryk University together with the defense of the thesis.

Master's thesis

Diploma thesis follows the form factor of academic articles (9,000 words +/-10%). It is written under individual supervision and will be independently evaluated by a reviewer. By default, both the supervisor and the reviewer will be based at Masaryk University. Upon request, students may choose scholars from Trento as their supervisors. More information about the thesis writing process can be found on the program website.
