- Abstract
- The course focuses on providing methodological support to students in the process of finding a suitable topic for their final project, choosing an adequate method of research or analysis and the correct format for presenting the results. The course strengthens students' abilities in the field of independent work and successful presentation of academic results. Students select their mentor/supervisor based on the mentor's profiling topics, independently formulating the project topic and the problem to be solved.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- formulate a research or management problem and justify the need for its solution; - formulate the problem to be solved and identify an adequate goal;
- propose a methodologically correct procedure for obtaining data to solve a research or management problem;
- search, assess the suitability of literature and other professional sources and use them in the project according to the principles of working with professional sources;
- follow the rules of research and publication ethics. - Key topics
- Teaching is done in parallel in two ways. The first is writing the final project and consulting with the mentor/trainer. The second way is seminars for full-time students (full-time in the spring, recordings available in the Interactive Curriculum in IS in the fall). Students also self-study required literature focused on the methodology of work or research and preparation of professional work in the social sciences and internal faculty and departmental documents related to final projects. Topics: 1. Final projects at the Department of Business Economics, ESF MU - introduction of possible forms 2. Managerial, practical or research problem; research question and hypotheses - How to know what is worthwhile to pursue (not only) in a final project and how to justify the choice 3. Problem solving - What to look out for when solving a problem (not only) when writing a final project 4. Quantitative Research Strategies - What approach to take to get quality data I 5. Qualitative Research Designs - What approach to take to get quality data II 6. Research - How to write a good literature review 7. Critical text handling and argumentation.

- Theoretical preparation for the preparation of the final project and its defence, providing methodological support to students, introducing methods of conducting research or analysis and the correct format for presenting results. The teaching is conducted in full-time.

- Credit is awarded for the continuous performance of the assigned tasks and for the independent development of the final project assignment. In case of an internship abroad, please consult with your project mentor/supervisor about the possibility of taking the course remotely.
