Course objectives
The aims of the course are:
to acquiant students of the course with the basic pharmacological data on selected groups of drugs
to practice the acquired information on case reports
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student:
knows basic pharmacological data of studied drugs
is able to suggest suitable drug for particular pacient with known diagnosis
Syllabus
  • Pharmacotherapy of ischaemic heart disease.
  • Antihypertensives. Diuretics, antiadrenergics, vasodilators, combinative pharmacotherapy.
  • Pharmacotherapy of heart failure. Inotropic drugs (digitalis, amrinone, dobutamine).
  • Introduction to psychopharmacology. Neurotransmitter mechanisms and specific neurotransmitter systems. Antipsychotics.
  • Anti-Parkinson pharmacotherapy. Drugs used in Alzheimer`s disease and other states of dementia. Anti-manic drugs.
  • Drug addiction.
  • Principles of biological therapy, monoclonal antibodies and therapeutic use.
  • Principles of targeted therapy in oncology, monoclonal antibodies, tyrosinkinases inhibitors. Adverse drug reactions.
  • Antimycotics, mechanism of action and adverse effects. Antivirotics.
  • Basic principles of immunotherapy. Advanced therapy medicinal products.
