Course objectives
The purpose of the practical classes is application of theoretical knowledge in diet therapy for basic, special and standardized diets in practice. Theoretical clinical diet therapy knowledge of individual diets is applied here, while it is necessary to respect the principles of diet therapy of a particular diet and nutritional values of different diet categories.
Learning outcomes
The graduate is able to provide individualized nutritional care to patients with specific nutritional needs. as part of this process, the student can process a nutritional history, evaluate the nutritional status of the patient with various parameters, correctly indicate diets and special nutrition compose a nutritional plan, communicate with the patient, educate the patient, lead a nutritional decree within the framework of comprehensive nursing care.

  • Standard and special kinds of diet: - liquid diet - sensitive diet - mixed diet - strict fat-reduction diet, fat-reduction diet - low-fibre diet - high-fibre diet - salt reduction sensitive diet - low-protein diet - gluten-free diet - diet therapy for phenylketonuria - diet therapy for lactose intolerance - a week diet menu for diabetic, reduction and low cholesterol diet - standardized method of diet therapy for pancreas disorders - standardized diet therapy regime at the coronary unit
