Course objectives
The main aims are:
- acquiring description of anatomical structures of the cardiovascular, lymphatic and nervous systems, and senses.
- identify the topographical regions on the head and neck, including structures in these areas.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to:
- describe the components of the cardiovascular, lymphatic and nervous systems, and senses.
- describe the basic anatomical structures in X-rays (native and contrast)
- define the regions of the head and neck, and describe the structures of these areas
Syllabus
  • 1. Heart, aorta, aortic arch
  • 2. Review of the arteries
  • 3. Review of veins, lymphatic system
  • 4. Introduction to the nervous system, Spinal cord – gross anatomy and structure, spinal nerve
  • 5. Plexus cervicalis, brachialis, lumbalis et sacralis
  • 6. Gross anatomy and structure of the brainstem
  • 7. Cranial nerves (trigeminal nerve – V)
  • 8. Cranial nerves (VII., IX., X., XI., XII.)
  • 9. Bank holiday
  • 10. Gross anatomy and structure of the telencephalon, ventricles, meninges and blood supply of the CNS
  • 11. Auditory system, cranial nerve VIII
  • 12. Visual system, orbit, optic nerve, cranial nerves III., IV., VI.
  • 13. Autonomic nervous system (ANS)
