Course objectives
The aim of the course is to develop communicative and (inter)cultural competence leading to the achievement of receptive language level C1 and productive language level B2+ according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In terms of communicative competence, it is about acquiring the ability to understand longer, more complex texts and speeches. It will also develop the ability to use language fluently and correctly for social and professional purposes in oral interaction and independent oral expression and to write clear and well-structured texts, choosing the style of the text according to the intended reader. At the same time, intercultural competence is developed in terms of the ability to interpret and produce spoken or written discourse within a specific socio-cultural context (German-speaking countries and regions).
Students will develop learning strategies leading to autonomous language learning.
Students will become familiar with the format of international language examinations.
