Course objectives
The course is dealing with basic methodology, basic literature, terminology, institutions etc. Students get acquainted with basic premises of theatrological work and get opening inside into the field. Course also includes excursion to theatrical archives and working with databases.

The course is inteded for first year students of DTS and it is mandatory for them.
The course is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to:
- identify main developmental tendencies of drama;
- recognize changes in structure and construction of dramatic play;
- work with databases;
- work in theatre archives.

  • 4. The department of history of theatre of Moravské zemské muzeum, work with archive materials
  • 5. Theatrological literature I. Periodics, textbooks, year-books, dictionaries, encyclopedies
  • 6. Theatrological literature II. Scholarly publications of theatre theory
  • 7. Theatrological literature III. Scholarly publications of theatre history
  • 8. The Archive of the amonal theatre in Brno etc
  • 9. The databasis and a bibliografy to history, literary history, and history of the theatre etc
  • 10. The Essentials rules of writing of scientific text, the bibliographic citations, content, modality, structure
