Basic knowledge of molecular structure a function of procaryotic and eucaryotic genome. Cultiovation techniques.

Course objectives
The subject is a part of basic course Molecular biology for students of discipline Molecular and cellular diagnostic. It comprises the tasks that offer acquiring of basic methods in molecular diagnics.
Syllabus
  • 1. Macrorestriction analysis performed by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis
  • 2. Southern blotting, nonradioactive labeling od DNA.
  • 3. Selective restriction fragment hybridization, estimation of RFLP polymorphisms
  • 4. Applications of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in diagnostics of bacteria.
  • 5. Protein isolation from animal cells, electrophoresis SDS-PAGE, western blotting, detection of proteins by means antibodies.
  • 6. Estimation of animal cell number in population by means haemocytometry and microscopy.
  • 7.-12. Specialized courses performed in external laboratories, excursions.
