Course objectives
Course description. mgr.Balaštík: The seminar will focus especially on the reading of important studies in literary theory (R. Jakobson, J. Mukařovský, R. Welek, Terence Hawkes, Milan Jankovič, Northrop Frye, Paul Ricoeur, Fr. Miko) and the interpretation of key terminology of the field. The aim is to make the student acquainted with basic ways of theoretical thinking about literature and art generally. The second part of the seminar will focus on the interpretation of concrete poetic texts.

Mgr. Tlustý: The seminar will introduce students into main streams of the literary theory (from Positivism to Deconstruction). The basis of all seminars will be the reading of chosen theoretical texts, which will be discused during the seminars.

Mgr. Zapletal: The seminar will make students acquainted with important lines of thought during the development of literary theory. The students will compare various approaches to the interpretation of literary works on the basis of reading important theoretical articles. The aim is to analyze the similarities and differences among the particular theoretical conceptions. The ability of argumentation will be put to the test in a discussion.

Mgr. Rodanová: The seminar will focus on the reading of key studies in literary theory. In the lessons students will diskuse given theme and interprete initial thoughts in concrete literary works. && The seminar lead by Dr. Fort offers the student a general overview of cricial literarz theoretical approaches and strategies.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Mgr. Balaštík: Podmínkou získání zápočtu je přednesení referátu a 70% účast.

Mgr. Tlustý: Přednesení referátu včetně vypracování hand-outu. Pravidelná četba zadaných textů, krátká písmená resumé na každou hodinu a aktivní práce v semináři. Zápočtový test; padesátiprocentní účast.

Mgr. Zapletal: Vypracovaný referát (včetně hand-outu pro ostatní studenty), pravidelná četba zadaných textů (krátká písemná resumé na každou hodinu) a aktivní práce v semináři, zvládnutý zápočtový test; padesátiprocentní účast.

Mgr. Rodanová: Písemně zpracovaný referát, 70% účast, četba zadaných textů (krátké písemné zpracováni textu jako podmínka pro prezenci v semináři).
