Stimulation

• we do this step to assess the patient's level of consciousness
• stay at a safe distance from the patient and ask them loudly: "Can you hear me?"
  • if the patient responds - ask them whether he/she needs any help
  • if the patient does not respond - shake his/her shoulders
• hold the patient's shoulder and shake with it, do not lean over the patient
  • if the patient responds - ask whether he/she needs any help
  • if the patient does not respond - shout for help
