Záchranka app

• an official app of the Emergency Medical Service of the Czech Republic
• the app enables you to dial the number 155, and it sends a message with your current location to the dispatcher
• the app automatically recognises when your location is in the mountains and, if used in the case of emergency, it will send a message to the local Mountain rescue service
• similarly the app automatically recognises when your location is near a dam or a reservoir, where Water rescue service operates, then it will contact them as well
• it is not possible to access the app in the locked screen
• it works even without an internet connection
• it is free of charge

• it also contains:
  • an interactive first aid guide
  • a GPS locator which will show your current location, plus details on the nearest: emergency, mountain rescue base, pharmacy, 24hr dentist emergency, regional emergency medical service, and AEDs
• the app is fully functional in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Austria (i.e. after pressing the red emergency button, your location and other information is sent and the phone will dial the emergency phone number); in Slovakia, the app works only in the mountains
• in the other foreign countries, you can still use the app - it automatically determines which country you are in and then selects the respective emergency number; however, it does not send any message with your current location
• it also gives you a warning in the case of impending threats to public health (e.g. contamination of drinking water, quarantine, chemical accident, finding of unexploded ordnance and other dangerous situations)
• from 2020 it is possible to use a video during the call, a chat or monitor the position of the caller continuously (if he/she confirms a link in a text message)
• the dispatcher can see the state of charge of the battery in the mobile phone, the type of the internet connection, etc. – the dispatcher can modify the type of connection
• the dispatchers can get all these information even if the caller does not use the app Záchranka using a web browser
• in the future the video from the place of the incident should be available also for the crew of the EMS that is going there
