Course objectives
The aim of the course Psychiatry - lecture is to get theoretically acquainted with:

- Basics of psychiatry and its purpose,
- Basic classification of psychiatric disorders,
- Aetiology of mental disorders,
- Basics of sexology,

The topics of lectures are those not covered in the course Psychiatry - exercise.
Learning outcomes
After the course a student will be able:
- to characterize the field of Psychiatry and its function;
- to describe the classification of mental disorders;
- to describe theories of the aetiology of mental disorders;
- to define and describe the basic classification of instincts;
- to describe sexological disorders (sexual dysfunctions, disorders of sexual orientation and gender identity disorders)

Oral examination

Examination in Psychiatry for VLA is oral and has 3 questions:

A - General Psychiatry,
B - Special psychiatry,
C - Clinical management of mental disorders.

Instructions for the distance form of completion of the course:
• If, for serious objective reasons, the student is unable to attend the oral examination in person, he / she will be allowed to take the distance psychiatry exam after agreement with the teaching representative.
In the case of listing the distance form of the examination in psychiatry, the instructions will be given when listing the specific date of the examination in IS MUNI.
