For participants from MU whose workshop fees will be covered by MU, a
different payment procedure applies. The customer will not pay directly
at the OC, but must mention this in the note and contact their home
Economic Department (EO) with a request to issue an internal order and
send it to the Economic Department of the Faculty of Informatics (to the
address ekon@fi.muni.cz).
Bioinformatics workshop is designed to offer hands-on experience in analyzing modern genomics data, and is open to a broad scientific community, including non-academics. Various topics are covered throughout the year.
The topic of the workshop on September 8th is "Methylation analysis using long reads". The workshop will take place at the Faculty of Informatics, from 8:30-12:30. The basic knowledge of bioinformatics, command line, and linux environment is required for all participants. The number of participants is limited to 15.
The workshop on September 8th will cover:
- how to visualize methylation information (IGV, UCSC Genome Browser)
- how to confidently call methylation per genomic position
- how the methylation information is represented on a single nanopore read
- how various types of methylation are represented in a bam file (MM, ML tags)
- how to parse MM, ML tags from python
- how to interpret ML tags
- phasing, how to cluster sequencing reads based on the methylation information
- differential methylation analysis
